Sean Galligan is a Junior B.M. Vocal Performance major at Drake University and is from West Des Moines, Iowa.
He has been seen onstage with the Drake Opera Theater as Sam/chorus in Our Town, the Mikado in The Mikado, and Macbeth in Verdi’s Macbeth act 1.
He has performed in the International Lyric Academy’s production of Die Zauberflöte as the bass Man in Armor and in their opera scenes productions, performed as Colline in La Boheme and Bartolo in Le Nozze di Figaro.
He has sung the baritone solo in Vaughan Williams’ Hodie and the bass solo in Mozart’s Requiem with the Drake choirs and Drake student/faculty orchestra.
He has also sung the baritone solo in Brahms’ Requiem and the baritone solo in Rutter’s Mass of the Children with the Fort Dodge Choral Society. Sean has been a finalist recipient in the NATS competition since his sophomore year in high school and was one of the winners of this year’s Drake University concerto competition.
This summer, he will be going back to the International Lyric Accademy to perform as Don Alfonso in their production of Mozart’s Cosi fan tutte and as Figaro in their opera scenes production of Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro. Sean has been studying privately with Professor Leanne Freeman-Miller since 2009.
